Gelişmiş OCR Özelliği Windows 11 için Test Ediliyor
Microsoft, Windows 11’in ekran görüntüsü (Snipping Tool) aracı için gelişmiş bir Optik Karakter Tanıma (OCR) özelliğini test ediyor. Bu yeni özellik, kullanıcıların ekran görüntüsü almadan doğrudan ekran üzerindeki metni kopyalayabilmelerini sağlayacak.
Traditionally, OCR systems required users to take a screenshot first to recognize text. However, Microsoft’s new feature automates this process by allowing users to directly select text on the screen. This advanced OCR functionality is seen as an extension of the “Text Actions” feature in the snipping tool.
Previously, Microsoft had added OCR capability to the Snipping Tool with the 2023 updates of Windows 11. However, users had to take a screenshot first and then recognize and copy the text in the image. Now, users will be able to copy text by simply highlighting it or selecting a specific area.
Microsoft’tan Yeni Windows 11 Uygulaması! Veri Taşıyacak
Microsoft is developing a built-in data transfer application for Windows 11. This new feature will make it easier to transfer data from an old computer to a new one. The company seems to have drawn inspiration from its PowerToys application’s “Text Extractor” tool.
PowerToys already allowed users to select and copy text from anywhere on the screen, but this feature was not integrated into Windows 11’s main system. Microsoft is now preparing to offer this OCR technology to all users by incorporating it into the Snipping Tool.
The new OCR feature will work with an advanced OCR model with higher accuracy and artificial intelligence support to enhance text recognition quality. Currently, the feature is limited to Windows Insider test users.
Microsoft plans to test the new system first in Windows 11’s Canary and Dev channels before rolling it out to the general public. The feature might take a few months to become stable. How do you think such a feature would impact your daily workflow? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
